Release The Foothold

And do not give the devil a foothold. Ephesians 4:27

My younger son and his wife are avid rock climbers. I have tried it and am not very good but they have gone to places that would scare you to think about it. To successfully climb it is more in your legs, and special shoes are even required. Your foot has to find a space to wedge into in order to get your body up higher. If you do not have yourself firmly in a foothold it could result in disastrous consequences. 

This verse for today mentions not giving the devil a foothold either. Why allow him to be able to get deeper and more imbedded in your life? Many times a person can be toying in the devils kingdom and not really be aware of it. By allowing certain things in your mind for instance you can give the devil a foothold.
Is there anything in your life where you think you might be allowing Satan a foothold? Gossip, poor integrity, not making Sunday worship a priority, watching bad movies or TV are but a few ways that he can capture you. Be careful my friend. As 1 Peter 5:8 reminds us "he roams like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour." Don't let it be you!

PRAYER: Lord Jesus I am grateful for the Bible for within its' pages is a wealth of truth to guide me through life and help me recognize the ways of the enemy. I choose to stay on your path and avoid Satanic traps at all costs. In Jesus' name. Amen.
