Shut Down And Shaken



“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34

This is such a different type of world we are living in right now due to social distancing and quarantine because of a disease spreading like wild fire that even the US was not prepared for. What is happening? Most are forced into quietness because of new rules in place to help not spread the virus and eradicate it eventually. 

What do you plan to do today? Work remotely from home? Order groceries to be picked up later in the week? Go for a walk? Read? Play with your children? At least now people can go somewhere in many states and even thankfully travel by air again. 



When you think it is getting under control then poof the ugly disease giant reappears to torment people and erode modern society. Ultimately your trust should not be in doctors, medical breakthroughs, medicine, social distancing measures, and quarantine but in the living God who is in control. He tells us to ‘fear not’ and yes that means now during this time causing extreme anxiety among many. So the next time fear knocks on the door of your heart send faith to answer the door. 

PRAYER: Jesus I know there are many who have underlying medical conditions and for them thus time is rough. I pray for healing for many and for peaceful hearts even in this ‘stormy’ time in our world and know sickness is not your plan so heal our hearts and land. Help me walk by faith not fear. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Take A Love Pause


“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7, NIV)
The verse above is often inserted into Christian wedding ceremonies. If only it could be readily applied and followed not only with a husband and wife but with life in general.
Satan loves to stir up hate and dissent. He is the little weasel mastermind behind any and all of the horrible conflicts occurring on American soil right now. It is not about people but it is about spiritual warfare and demonic spirits who have taken people captive to create havoc. If only people would follow God’s word but destructive spirits will have none of it.
Lots of mean ugly people are out there my friend. Don’t cave to their level of being mean back but instead pray that damage, hate, destruction and evil will cease. Pray for those causing trouble to find Jesus and kick Lucifer out of their life. God and the devil can not co-exist. Read the verse today over and over until you feel it becoming part of you. Is this how you want to be with friends, family, and strangers? Then make it happen.
PRAYER: Your name Lord is above every other name. I need not fear destruction and terror because I have a mighty God and I know who wins in the end. Help me Lord to be strong amongst those who are acting up. Give me kindness even for those who are not kind back. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

WWJD Revisited Daily


Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.Ephesians 4:29
A few years back the phrase WWJD or “what would Jesus do” became popular but it is good to refer to daily. In life you deal with all sorts of people and not all of them are Christlike. Some may be incredibly be spouses, children, friends. To know how to respond like Christ would is important.

Not everyone is led or filled with the Holy Spirit. I heard a message at church a couple weeks ago about the way we respond to people is our reaction to Jesus because he made all of us. Not everyone follows him but still they are His creations and made in His image. 

I am not sure what you are dealing with but I am here to say to you that try as best you can to overlook some people’s ugliness and rude treatment and shine your light. You may have to confront the individual if a family member or close friend and they may get defensive. People can be downright mean. I don’t know who has hurt you with words but forgive them and pray for them. Ask God to make them aware of their verbal abuse and deliver them into his kingdom. Treat everyone like they are Jesus. 

PRAYER: I am so very thankful for the gift of being able to speak, shout, sing, and praise God. The voice is an incredible creation. Help me Father to use my words to build up people and not belittle them or gossip about them. Help me be able to forgive those who have crushed my spirit with their words. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Happy Birthday Freedom!


You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. Galatians 5:13

Today marks the 244th birthday of United States of America not always united but always fighting for liberty, democracy, and religious freedom. Many internal wars have been fought during this time and there is always someone with a wrecking ball attempting to destroy America as we know it.

This is a real time to celebrate. Military members have fought and died to preserve freedom from things like Antifa trying to take over cities. Satan is not idle in the continuing quest for Liberty because he causes agitation, deception, fear, fights, disrespect, division as his chief aim is to destroy any country whose mantle is to follow the word of God.

Only the Holy Spirit entering into a man or woman’s  heart is going to change this. All the rants on social media, political hatred, racial division, infighting and trying to prove your point will never work. There are many lost souls out there and you need to be lifting them up in prayer for God to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to the power of God. Find a good dynamic Bible teaching church home preaching God’s word and every day thank God for freedom and do your part to keep it free. The late President Ronald Reagan said “Freedom is only one generation from extinction” and how right he was.

PRAYER: Oh how I love my freedom. During this Covid 19 loss of freedom I realized just how much. When quarantine hits I felt helpless. Help everyone Lord who values freedom, especially religious freedom to not get jailed for following what the Bible says, be in continual prayer for people to be set free from lies of enemy trying to say what is right and wrong. Guard my heart Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Keep Dancing


And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 
Help me Jesus, is  the response to most calls to businesses during this Covid 19. If you are not used to waiting or have an important issue it can potentially infuriate you to no end. In the human sense you may want to pop a cork. A pre recorded message says “due to Covid 19...”.

Recently when I had an issue with this as I waited on hold in what seems forever I started dancing and singing this Bible verse in a tune I made up just to cope with the frustration building up inside of me. Have you been there and at times you just lose it? You try not to. Be still. Take heart. It might be trying to get important paperwork, do banking, get a driver license in an office closed due to Covid 19, or something similar.

This too shall pass. No reason to raise your blood pressure so if you can attempt to lie down somewhere. Prop your feet up. Turn on some praise and worship music to delight and feed your soul. Just be still. The anger of man never produces the righteousness that God intends it says in JAMES 1:20. 

PRAYER: I ask you to help me be still when situations in life arise that would be better handled calmed down and rational. Forgive me when I have acted otherwise. I want the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5) display always in all scenarios. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Your Plane Is NOT Going Down


Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

Many people are fearful of flying and that is okay. I guess it would be natural to be scared when sitting in a hollow metal tube 36000 feet in the air. But really it is safe.

Do you have certain things that make you scared? Rattlesnake encounters? Getting hit head on by a tractor trailer? Dying in a house fire? The death of a child? Being left alone in the dark? Dying of Covid 19? It is common to be fearful but you can control it.

Don’t dwell constantly on doomsday scenarios and the ‘what ifs’ of life or you create instant fear. Today’s verse says to think on good things. Constant fretting over things that may or may not happen only serves to increase your blood pressure and make you mentally ill. Get your mind focused totally on something else. Don’t feed your mind on scary thoughts. I know you can do this!!

PRAYER:Help me Lord to run this race of life to win and part of that is to have right thinking and control my wandering mind. I give you my fear and leave it at the foot of the cross. It is the enemy who tries to torment me and I will not allow it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Not To Worry



Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. Psalm 91:9–10

2020 has not disappointed so far in the unpredictable category. It’s only July so what next. 

Are you worried, scared, uncertain of the future? Psalm 91 is a great chapter to read over and over. It helps to settle you if you are a little stirred up. God has many promises in His word for those who follow Him diligently.

Are you able to entrust your life totally and believe God is watching over you? Do you heed His word or barely give Him any time in your day? Some of you may live with someone who has little interest in things beyond Sunday. Don’t guilt them just pray. Stand firm and believe God is going to bring something good out of all this craziness of the past 6 months. 

PRAYER:Father I thank you for the peace I have when I trust in you. I pray for those who are fearful and yet rarely give you any time. Forgive me when I let the world make me think wrong things and get anxious. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
