But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31Feelings can not be trusted. For instance, love is more than 'feelings' yet how many marriages break up because the couple no longer 'feel' in love. A feeling is a mood or an emotional state. You can get yourself on an emotional high of sorts and not be rational with your thinking. Your mind can conjure up things that are not even real.
When it comes to prayer and waiting on God you may 'feel' like God has abandoned you when in fact He hears your prayers but He works out things for His glory and in His time. Maybe you 'feel' God is really distant from you. Perhaps this is the time to seek Him even more. Keep praying, keep believing, keep hoping. Of course Satan will come at you trying to get you to fixate on wrong thinking. Tell him to get behind you for you are trusting in God.Whatever it is you are trusting God for hang in there, never doubt, and keep looking to the cross.PRAYER: Forgive me Lord when I allow the world to mold my thinking and what I do. I am to be set apart and be able to think like you think. As I wait I ask you to give me strength to get involved in another's life and see if I can meet a need. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Good Things Can Happen To Those Who Wait
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
No matter how much we may not like it, waiting is a part of life. I certainly learned that lesson in the military. In order to learn to succeed in life you have to learn the art of patience and trying to not rush things. Sometimes rushing into things has disastrous consequences. It is necessary to be wise and to use good judgement and of course to pray. Waiting for fast food, waiting for rides at an amusement park, waiting in traffic, waiting at the doctor office. There are many scenarios where patience is required.
Sometimes in life 'doors' may be shut and we become discouraged. A certain job does not come through only to find out that down the road there was a better one waiting. Learning to wait is a valuable asset in life. It teaches you to be calm, cool, and collected and all of us could certainly benefit from that, right? In our case one 'ideal' assignment in the military may not come through only to find out a much better one awaited us.
Basically, trust God to guide you in life and try to be still. Try to practice waiting with small tasks so you will be able to master this when a giant hurdle awaits you.
PRAYER: I for sure need to have more patience. Guide me through times Lord when I feel like wanting something instant. Give me the ability to have peace and stillness. In Jesus' name. Amen.
