Cleansing Breath

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

Often times if we are flustered about something if we could get away from the source of frustration and just calm down things would get better. Take a cleansing breath so to speak. When you do you will refocus, relax, renew, recharge, rekindle, restore, and rebuild your life just by taking a quiet moment to reflect on God's goodness. This too shall pass. Put down all the electronic devices and just sit and breathe in God's goodness. Relax.

The pace of the modern world can be mind boggling. God never intended for us to just keep running on the treadmill of life without taking a breath. In order to get focused on Him and stay focused on Him we have to be intentional about breathing in the love of God and breathing out the lies and confusion of the world.

Starting today why not practice this. Just breathe in the love of Christ and breathe out the hatred of the world.

PRAYER: This is another day you have made a Lord and I choose to stay focused on you and not my problems or the worries of the world. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Authentication Required

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things that you do not know. Jeremiah 33:3

I am settled into a cozy chair in a coffee shop to begin writing for about an hour. I have a delicious large iced latte in front of me and proceed to log in. This is a place I had been recently and created a log in account. You can probably guess what happened. Nothing I tried got me onto the network so for the next hour I would either do what I could without Internet or be frustrated. The message I kept getting was 'Authentication Required'.

Aren't you glad that when we pray we have direct access to the Father with no error messages? No passwords required to get into church, open our Bibles, listen to Christian radio yet how many people still fail to even have the desire to get closer to God. We have 'all access' passes to the Father in Heaven. How great is that?! Until there is a tragedy or reason to cry out to Him for help He is sadly ignored by many. Maybe you don't mean to ignore Him but other things in your busy life tend to squeeze out a morning quiet time. You used to do it but they sort of went by the wayside when you got caught up in the world and the fun stuff you chose to do instead.

Maybe it is time to come back to the Savior making Him the priority above all else. There is no secret handshake, gold card, or special key needed to access Him. Just open up your mouth and say "Jesus I'm here and I need you."

PRAYER: Lord Jesus I am thankful I can talk to you any time and any where. I thank you that you love me even when I have ignored you. I choose to be still and listen to your still small voice. Help me order my days to make time for you. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Cannot Open Page

Peace I leave you, My peace I give to you. I do not give to you like the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

Aren't error messages on your computer frustrating? For those of us in the baby boomer generation we remember the error messages on our television sets back in the 60's would reading "Please Standby. The Trouble is Not In Your Set". Oh the joys of technology whether new or old. In cowboy days wagon wheels broke. Whatever time of life a person lived in I am certain there were frustrations that came in their time as well. We get to a point that our peace is disrupted by simple messages such as found in my title.

How is a person to achieve peace in a chaotic non stop world? The answer is simple. Get away, take breaks, breathe, and do not squeeze God out of your daily existence. Many may call themselves a Christian but their minds are far from Him. How do expect to feel peaceful and close to God when you rarely spend time with Him? As a reminder, I just wanted to point out the enemy,Satan, tries to keep us overloaded and busy because then excuses are made why there is no time for God. He's just for Sunday, then for some nature will do just fine. After all He created it. What's your excuse?

Wherever you are today in your walk with God, if you are experience the frustrations of daily living take time daily to give Him time and see if things don't get better.

PRAYER: Oh Lord open my eyes to things in my life that are causing me frustration and lack of peace. Help me as I learn to re order my priorities daily making sure you are first not just in words but in my actions. In Jesus' name. Amen.
