Sheer Hatred.....Because Of Satan

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Corinthians 4:4

Recently I was watching the movie 'Schindler's List' and just witnessing the sheer hatred for the Jewish race by the Nazi's and it is eerily similar to today with even our own President turning his back on our friend Israel. How can people have so much hatred for a people group? Iran hates us and shouts "death to America" yet our government is cuddling up with them. It is confusing to say the least why we are allowing so much evil to permeate our great Christian nation.

Make no mistake, God is still on the throne and He is still in charge. We are commanded to pray for our leaders. We are commanded to love even those who hate us. Satan is confusing and distorting many things today to make many believe his lies. Often people who don't even realize it fall prey to his devious schemes. Right now all Americans of all races and all political backgrounds need to ask God to open their eyes to deception and help them not be so in love with a political philosophy that they can not stay aware of danger and evil.

We know God blesses a nation who follows Him and obeys His laws. We right now in the United States are starting to stray. It is time to come back to the truth and bring revival to this land.

PRAYER: Lord you are good and your mercies endure forever. Help me Lord to not be unaware of Satan's schemes. I pray for those trapped by his lies even some in authority. I ask you protect and heal this great land. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Equal Time

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father but is from the world. 1 John 2:15-16

The world we live in presents us with so many distractions. You don't even have to be diagnosed with attention deficit disorder to be bombarded with a multitude of entertainment and social media choices screaming for attention. What is your normal activity  each morning when you awaken from slumber? Is it to check your Facebook status or to pick up the word of God? Now don't get me wrong I am not saying God does not want you using Facebook or all those wonderful Apps on your mobile device,  but your life and my life, need prioritized and balanced. Somehow if you hardly even crack open a Bible except maybe when the pastor or priest reads a verse on Sunday then maybe it is time to ask yourself what you need to do to get closer to the Lord.

The world lures us into the trap of different types of evil. Entertainment choices on the three major networks used to be so wholesome but now we are bombarded with the normalcy of crime shows, autopsies, lawyers, sexual relations outside of marriage and on it goes. Gone are the innocent days of 'Leave It To Beaver', 'Ed Sullivan', and 'The Donna Reed Show.' On TV Land occasionally you have good shows like 'Little House on the Prairie' and 'Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman' but sad to say even Christian teens are being desensitized to sin through programming. What do you need to do to insure you are not being overly captivated by things of this world?

I suggest starting off each day by not running instantly to the television news, the paper, or many other things that keep your attention away from the Bible. Today is the 24th so begin with prayer and read the 24th Psalm and 24th Proverb. The more you get used to this the more Facebook will become less of a priority.

PRAYER: I admit it is hard to sometimes try to start my day with my quiet time Lord. Help me try to put the important things first in my life before rushing around being  distracted by this world. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Do You Adore Him?

"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

During the Christmas season the song 'Oh Come All Ye Faithful' may have been sung by some of my readers. One of the verses says "Oh come let us adore Him Christ the Lord!" The thing is, do you adore Him?

To adore means to love deeply or be devoted to. Are you devoted to Jesus or do you truly put Him first in your day? Do you love Him deeply? Think about falling in love and how it feels. Is that same love the kind you love Jesus with? If not you can develop that type of love.

When you adore someone you would not want to do anything ever to hurt them. Can we say the same with our relationship with Jesus? Have you done anything lately that would break Jesus heart? This is something only between you and Him. Each person has to search their own heart for the answer.

Start today and really try to insure you are making God smile in things you say and do. It is by doing this that you show love and adoration in a meaningful way.

PRAYER: Lord I truly do adore you although at times I certainly have not acted like it. Forgive me. Help me lead a life that shows other I love and adore you first and foremost. In Jesus' name. Amen.
