Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.2 Corinthians 10:12
Theodore Roosevelt – “Comparison is the thief of joy.” Comparison really is the thief of joy. One day on a walk I was noticing in this neighborhood in nearby Meridian, Idaho how many backyards looked the same. Perhaps one family gets something and the next one thinks they need it whether they do or not.Someone gets something and maybe you think it would be neat to acquire so you get it to. It can be a vehicle, landscaping, electric bike, or whatever as if getting that will make you happy. The grass seems to be greener on the other side of the fence when in reality it is not.Be content in your own skin and with your own life not trying to be someone God did not intend you to be. You have a distinct purpose as a follower of Christ and don’t let comparing get in the way of that.PRAYER: I am grateful for blessings big and small on my life. I am thankful for being able to let my light shine. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
