Recently I was in a coffee shop while the noon TV news was on and patrons seemed glued to the anchor person sucking it all in like they were a god. Every word clung to and absorbed and probably believed too which is concerning.
Oh if only the populace, even Christians, would turn off the news and tune in to the scriptures and spend time absorbing God like they saturate themselves with the news. It is so lopsided politically and I often can not hardly stand to be in same room within earshot.
I encourage everyone to not be glued to news and try to get tuned in to spending time with the Lord. The news agitates and gets people believing things that often are fabricated or simply one person’s view. The news can get you upset and worried. I for one encourage peace, joy, freedom from letting someone else formulate your truth.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus I thank you for being able to live in freedom and have many options of things to watch and listen to. I pray for mankind to be convicted to know Jesus like they know the news and its personalities. Help the news media do the job of sharing pertinent things and not trying to spin things to make people think a certain way. Give me the desire to run to the truth and turn off the TV. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
