Paralyzed By Fear?

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

The news media does an outstanding job in keeping people fearful just the same way People magazine does in keeping people focused on celebrity worship. Why or why can’t you let things go and not be buying into fear?

Here are a few examples of fearful scenarios it is necessary to take victory over to have an abundant life abiding in Christ. Ebola virus, end of the world, airplane crashes, cancer, earthquakes, pollution, global warming, guns, tornadoes, vaccines, Lyme disease, sporting accidents such as snow skiing or being hit by a baseball, legionnaires disease, the Coronavirus, war, terrorism, and I am certain you can add a few. Sitting around consuming brain cells concerned over everything  does not get you closer to God. I have heard people say “But I am just a worrier”.

So what is a person to do who is infected with the ‘fear bug’? First get on your knees daily and pray and tell God you trust Him. Next realize bad stuff is going to happen but your worrying won’t change anything. Third, relax, put on some praise and worship music. Fourth, stop feeding your fear with nightly or morning news and reading the paper but instead reach for your Bible and read  Psalms or book of John. Now go my friend into a peaceful day trusting God for everything.

PRAYER: I thank you Lord that you are on the throne. I thank you for knowing you have my back and that of my family members. Teach me to learn diversion techniques when I would start to succumb to a fearful spirit knowing only the devil is rejoicing as he wants me to fear. I claim peace now. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Hard Heart Remedy

‘For  this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.' Matthew 13:15

Sometimes you may wonder why a person can’t understand a spiritual principle that you see as obvious or perhaps they can’t recognize evil when it is right in front of them. Well it is because of being blinded by Satan or having a hard callous heart. The devil loves these individuals and some of them may be people you know and love.

Only the Holy Spirit can draw people out of darkness into the marvelous light. Beating someone up with scripture or prodding never works. Only through prayer can those you are lifting in prayer see the light of the goodness of the Lord.

Be patient my dear friend for those you are praying for. Keep believing because God hears you. Continue to lift up even those you don’t know personally who are blinded by the enemy. Darkness never likes the light and seeks to destroy keep that in mind. Now go let you light shine.

PRAYER:Oh Father I seek your face daily. Help me keep watch over traps the enemy might lay and hope I fall into. I pray for those close to me who may be wandering in the darkness and captivated by lies of Satan. Deliver them Lord.In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Can You? Will You?

Get rid  of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32

Who do you need to forgive and then let it go? Often times you might hear a message preached about loving your enemy, forgiving and moving on but then how many just leave and go about their normal day and the word of God never really sank in?

If you are the recipient of someones lack of forgiveness you can not force them to like you or want to be your friend. You truly have to leave it with God in His more than capable hands. All the prodding, whining, begging just drives people further and further away. Get involved in something else to think about.

Who do you need to entrust to God today?

PRAYER: Lord rejection hurts. Bitterness is horrible. Anger breaks friendships and destroys marriages. I resist the enemy at any attempts to get me angry and upset and help me to give those people to you who choose to remain aloof and unforgiving. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Zero Connection In A Noisy World

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

It seems today most activities in modern life surround the almighty internet connection. You can’t  conduct any business or even many things in private life without it. Honestly it is nice to be without it at times to bring peace.

Stillness and quietness are things parents need to create in a child’s life even in infancy, not being wired and requiring batteries to enjoy things. Learning to sit and be still. Constant noise is not a good thing and can create agitated people.

Connecting to the Almighty God is the most crucial important thing in life. With God all things are possible and you can acquire a sense of peace and well being. If you have not made your main connection source Jesus think about changing it up to incorporate that today. Get a good devotional book to read, a paper Bible versus an electronic one in maybe a more modern version such as The Message. Try to see if you can escape from a wired life to a truly wireless one without competition from things that distract you from God.

PRAYER: Father God, Abba Daddy I need to hear you daily and sometimes it is hard if I don’t sit still somewhere without noise and the constant distraction of ‘devices’. Help me discipline myself to do without modern connectivity at least part of each day and spend more time with you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Is Your Table Set?

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Psalm 23:5

When you are having special company usually you may take extra effort to make your dining room table nice. Did you know God prepares a table for us daily in the presence of our enemies?

Think about that. No worry or fear or wondering if the bully enemies are going to invade and destroy but instead peacefully has a table prepared right there in their presence. Now I am not seminary trained but I see this preparing a table as meaning there is absolutely no need to fear or manipulate situations but to have complete trust that good things are going to happen and you can live in peace in the meantime.

Take authority as a follower of the most high God that you can run victoriously the race set before you and dodge Satan's spears he may be tossing at you. You are protected and loved by God. It further says in this verse that He anoints your head with oil and your cup overflows. Being anointed is the most special gift that can be done to a believer. You truly can know that God is taking care of you and laugh in the face of tragedy or seemingly gloomy situations. Brighter days are always ahead regardless of how you feel now.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus it is so easy to fear in a world that majors in fearful news. I choose this day to trust you and know you are with me and go before me. I need not fear darkness, terror, gossip, or anything else. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Are You A Co Worker Of Jesus?

For we are co-workers in God's service; you are God's field, God's building. 1 Corinthians 3:9
Are you in the ‘same office building’ as God or in other words are you laboring with him for the advancement of the kingdom and to help more people out of darkness? Kind of neat analogy of thinking of yourself as working side by side with the savior but that is what you and I as followers of Him are supposed to be doing each and every day.
Another good verse is Colossians 3:23 which says “Whatever  you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for human masters” and if you apply that scripture to every thing you do then hopefully you will be an excellent employee and do superior work. If you are a stay at home mom or otherwise unemployed or retired that verse should be applicable to how you operate day to day, people can trust you and count on you.
A message at my church recently  asked the question “How can I use my time to make an eternal difference” and ponder on that for a while. God does not want secret service believers but those who reach out for the kingdom, who are on duty 24-7 to share his love and represent him. So how about it, are you a good co worker?
PRAYER: Lord Jesus I love you and I want Holy boldness to not shy away from bringing up all things Christian when the opportunity arises. It is you who have gifted me in certain areas so help me use what you have blessed me with whether time, talent, ability, or money to further the kingdom of God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Have You Stopped To Pray?

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1
Many things in life can get you flustered and if you happen to be like me and get impulsive it is easy to overreact to something. Lost keys, pray? Missed flight? Pray.
Misunderstanding? Pray. Fear of loss of freedom? Pray.

So many times an excited emotional spirit can get you so caught up in worry and fear the one thing you should be doing somehow gets lost in the fray. Each day holds new promise and hope. No matter what is going on in your life God is still there. How many people get mad at God first because somehow He the big genie should not have allowed this. I don’t have answers but I know that indeed God does work all things together like it says in Romans 8:28 somehow someway and sometime.
The main thing to remember is that this present world is not your home. There is so much more awaiting the follower of Christ. This is your testing ground of sorts. Run your race to win. Surround yourself with positive people. Don’t quit praying  or reading the Bible and find a dynamic church that you can serve in and that lifts you from your pit.
PRAYER: Father here in America right now we are so blessed and even our problems seem minor compared to Third world, Communist, or Socialist nation’s. I pray for those whose hearts are broken and feel there is no hope or no light at the end of the tunnel and ask that you lift them up and fill them with peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
