Happy Birthday.....Yes It Is!!!!!

Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by living a godly life. Proverbs 16:31

Today mark's my great niece Rylee's 16th birthday. This is a birthday milestone and a life milestone. Birthdays are special no matter if they represent a milestone or not. They celebrate life and celebrate you. Everyone should be celebrated. Never dread the years of your life and growing older.

Jokes are made when a person turns 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and so on. Commercials on television particularly target women using a 24 year old model to advertise wrinkle cream or spot remover. Oh why oh why is it so hard to embrace growing older? That is a question each of us needs to ask.

Stay positive as you get older. My suggestion is to not write a Christmas letter filled with all the medical ailments and body part replacements you have had assuming this is the new normal. Try to stay upbeat no matter if you are physically suffering or not. Each of us walks a different walk in life and don't envy those your age not suffering but pray for them to stay in good health. Sure age brings some issues with it but don't let them define you is what I am trying to get at. Enjoy your life and shine Jesus' light no matter what your age.

PRAYER: Lord you are good. Life is good. I pray for those persons having a hard time adjusting to growing older to accept it as part of the plan. I pray for those who have had family members die and not understand. Help us rejoice with those who rejoice. In Jesus' name. Amen.

  1. Becky: The advetising industry chooses to downplay the fact that we DO get older. I see it in each commercial for those face creams. I use some of them but not to look younger, I want to look healthier and more rested.
