Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. 2 Timothy 2:16Politics and Christianity do in fact go hand in hand but we have to be careful how we approach people when dealing with the dreaded subject. Friendships have been lost over political issues and I for one lost one when I stood up for pro life several years ago. We can love people and still disagree with them politically but politics seems to be a hot button issue to avoid in Christian circles.
Only the Holy Spirit can bring conviction on a person about anything. Shoving something down a person's throat never works whether it is politics or religion. Build a relationship with a person and be their friend. Keep from firing off political emails unless you know they are wanting them. Conduct your life with the love of Christ in the center. Take it from someone who has been there done that so to speak.Pray for those in authority and pray for future elected officials. Don't stay home on Election Day this fall. We in the United States are blessed with a democracy, at least for now, so get out there and cast your vote. Stand up for your moral convictions even when the government outlaws morality and is confused. The truth indeed sets people free.PRAYER: Lord it is because of you that we have government. Here in the United States our laws were based on Biblical principles yet some have strayed from that. Forgive us Lord for turning our back on you and bring revival to this land. Help me not drive people away with political chatter. In Jesus' name. Amen.
