Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
Our mind can be used for good by God or as a tool in the enemies hands. If you dwell on wrong things then naturally your mind will become fixated on bad stuff. The enemy loves to capture our minds. Believers are not immune to this happening. You have to consciously make a point to dwell on good things such as the verse above indicates.
If you start thinking people don't like you, or you are going to get fired, or even dwell on bad things you see constantly on the news or in not so stellar movies, it can be easy to be a bottom dweller similar to a catfish on the bottom of a river skimming for junk to eat. Your mind gets caught up in this cycle and it is hard to escape. Guess what? You have to escape or the enemy traps you. The Bible says in Isaiah 55:7 "Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon." Where are your thoughts today?
PRAYER: I thank you Lord for the mind you have given me and its' ability to learn many things. You truly have blessed me. Help me use my mind for good and not let it fall into Satan's clutches. In Jesus' name. Amen.
