All Dolled Up

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 1 Peter 3:3-4

I am a people person. When I drive I do watch the road, but also when stopped it is amusing at times to observe others patting their hair down, put on lipstick, shave, or a bunch of other primping in which the person hopes to enhance their overall appearance.

These same folks who primp in front of either a car mirror or at home sometimes for hours, I wondered if they took as much time primping for the Lord,  meaning giving Him time each day to strengthen their spiritual heart by reading the word of God and praying. Do you give your heart the necessary spiritual beauty treatment each day by filling it with good, pure, and spiritual thoughts?

Maybe there are some bad morning habits you need to break to be able to sit alone and be still with God. This does not mean you can not wear makeup or comb your hair but take inventory of your morning and see how you could change it up to make God a real priority.

PRAYER: I want to look good for you Lord but to not be overly obsessed with everything having to be perfect. Help me Lord to get my spiritual beauty up to par and the rest will follow. In Jesus' name. Amen.
