Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants. Psalm 116:15
With the recent killings of 9 souls in a church in Charleston, South Carolina the question is why? Many people who lose family members say why. When a doctor has to inform relatives in a waiting room of the death of a young accident victim the question is why?
When senseless tragedies occur the first reaction after shock is to hate whoever caused it. There has to be someone to blame. And oh don't forget to blame God because hey, He could have stopped it, right? Unfortunately bad stuff happens but God has a way of bringing light out of a dark situation. If you don't allow your heart to be hardened with bitterness and anger you have a much better time making it through tough times like these.
Grief is overwhelming and oftentimes takes years to get through. Through a person's sadness though in a strange way another can receive joy and comfort. Pray for the families of those 9 whose lives were tragically cut short in a Bible meeting and pray for atheists who don't believe. Also pray for the family of the shooter.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus I know you weep when senseless evil occurs in this world. When school shootings occur, a teen dies in a car accident, a baby dies at birth you are still there to give comfort. I pray those in grief do not turn their backs on you but embrace you even more. In Jesus' name. Amen.
