And Suddenly!

Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. Acts 2:2
Several years ago one of my co leaders in Moms in Prayer  used the attribute of God that God is the 'God of the Suddenlies' when she led. It was an awesome attribute.According to sources on the internet the word 'suddenly' is mentioned 41 times in the Bible. God is indeed the 'God of the suddenlies'. Suddenly when we least expect it someday He is coming back to gather up His people. The dead in Christ will rise according to the scriptures and those of us here on Earth will 'suddenly' be gone. It is not something to fear, unless of course you are not right with the Lord, but it is something to anticipate joyfully.

God will suddenly come and in an instant things will change. No more tears, pain, heartache. His glorious return and we who know Him will suddenly be caught up with Him in the heaven. Suddenly Jesus will appear! Suddenly we will be with Him in heaven. The thought is overwhelming and exciting. Suddenly, in an instant! Poof!

In the meantime before this 'suddenly' happens, we need to be going about our business here on Earth living for Him and not for Satan. We need to be getting to know Him better by reading his word each day instead of reading People magazine or checking up on everyone on Facebook first. To start why not start with Chapter 24 of Proverbs or Psalms or in other words the chapter that corresponds to the day it is. Read the book of John. Pray and ask God to make himself known to you. Try to ask yourself if what you are doing bring glory to Him. If you are angry at Him for some reason, tell Him you are sorry and ask Him to direct your paths. He will. He will suddenly be with you.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus thank you for loving me unconditionally. Thank you for waiting for me to give you my whole heart. Forgive me when I have let the world squeeze you out. In Jesus' name. Amen
