The big day is almost here. Tonight many will attend Christmas Eve Candlelight services in recognition of tomorrows big event. For others,Santa is number one and they can not wait for gift opening time.
Pause and reflect on what this very Holy day means. Our world certainly tries to turn it into a red and green fest. "Silent night, holy night" the song says. Over 2,000 years have passed since the birth of a baby in a manger. He came to earth to save us from our sins. Born of a virgin, a miraculous birth indeed, like none other.
This baby boy born to Mary and Joseph was the King of kings and Lord of lords. Is the aspect of Jesus more important in your celebration or is He a mere after thought in all the manmade busyness?
Tonight think about what it is that will occur tomorrow. Often we are so extremely stressed out by all the plans and merriment of this special holiday this little baby in a manger is shoved into background.
Luke 2:11(KJV) says 'For unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior which is Christ the Lord.'
PRAYER: I am excited to have a time of year where it seems even those who forget you the other 364 days can somehow acknowledge what is happening. I pray Lord you will let your love shine through me to others all year round. Forgive me if I have gotten too caught up in this day to know what it is all about. In Jesus' name. Amen.
