ANCHORED...NEVER SHAKEN

Sunday in church we sang this awesome praise and worship song whose lyrics said "I'm anchored never shaken". This is truly great and makes you feel so supercharged and like you can do anything while you are there worshipping and praising God. The real challenge lies whenever you exit the doors of the church and meet life head on during the next 6 days. Many things may come your way that are unknown to you at the time. Are you strengthened in your inner spirit enough to meet challenges head on and lean on God to get you through or will you become fretful and weak knee'd and lose your composure and not know how you will make it through the coming week?

Life does present challenges. Anyone who says nothing bad has happened to them is probably living on another planet. James 1:3 says "For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow."   No one likes to endure suffering and heartache but every dark cloud eventually has a silver lining.

I  think of a potter who is making a clay pot.  The clay has to be molded and shaped until it is made into a beautiful vessel. This molding and shaping causes the clay to get beat around allot. The potter slaps the clay down on a table, hits it with his fist, rolls it over and over till finally he is ready to fire it. This firing process  puts the clay pot in a very hot furnace to complete it and make it a finished perfect product. Voila! A beautiful work of art is created after all this clay has gone through.

God is the potter and we are His clay. He shapes us into the beings he wants us to be. Sometimes the shaping may be painful. Romans 9:21 says "When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn't he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make one jar for decoration and another to throw garbage into?" God has a purpose for each of us here on this earth. Do not fear the trials because God is with you and goes with you. Joy will come in the morning. There is a saying "if God takes you to it, He'll get you through it."

PRAYER: Lord have your way in my life. Forgive me when I complain or do not understand your purposes. It is my desire Lord to be content as the person you have created me to be. Thank you Lord for both good and bad because you do in fact work all things together for the good. (See Romans 8:28). In Jesus Name, Amen!
