WHERE IS YOUR MIND DWELLING?

Are you in a rut? Do you obsess over things that do not matter? Do you let your thinking go wild and think on things that are not edifying but cause you pain and worry? It is time to control your  thinking and set your mind on things above but not on earthly things. Call on the Holy Spirit who gives you the ability to control your thoughts. Think on godly things and do not dwell on rumors, hearsay, lies and things of the flesh.Dwelling on bad stuff will only cause torment and God wants us to be at peace.  This takes mental discipline to do and it is possible to overcome. Isaiah 26:3 says "You will keep in perfect peace  those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you."

Philippians 4:8 says "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.". Do not worry, speculate, get hurt feelings and all the things of the flesh. We have all been there and it is not a fun place to be. Your confidence and boldness should be in Jesus Christ not the lies the enemy brings into your mind. Satan will try to plant lies in your head.He is a master at it. Listen to the truth and it will set you free.

Take it from one who has been there several times,  that I know it is easy to get hurt feelings or feel maybe someone does not like you. Whether they like you or not does not matter. You need to keep focused on good things. The enemy is a liar and wants you to focus on things to distract you from Christ. If you are distracted and worried all the time then you can not fulfill the purpose God has for you being stressed out. Give the person to the Lord who is causing you pain. Let the Lord deal with their heart and go on about life. Let it go.

As a believer we are to have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16 says "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ." The mind of Christ should not be weighed down with the 'what ifs' and cares and concerns of the world around us. We are to attempt to stay focused on things to build up and not tear down. Cast off bad thoughts and do not allow them to take up residence in your mind. Speculating about things, worrying about things you can do nothing about and simply fretting over day to day life will not get you closer to the Lord. 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us to 'take every thought captive." Are you doing that?

So do you want to be strong for the Lord and be disciplined in what you allow to get into your thinking? With God's help you can achieve this. You can have the mind of Christ.

PRAYER: Father I know with your help I can keep focused on things of heaven and not be consumed by earthly troubles I can do nothing about. I want to be able to maintain peace and focus and not let the enemy cause me to worry and fear. In Jesus Name. Amen.
