STRENGTH IN HARD TIMES

Not everything in life is always going to go as we planned. Our area is recovering from a devastating F5 Tornado which struck 27 April   destroying homes, farms, businesses, cars and took many lives. It takes time to recover from something like this. Even not being personally affected by this but seeing the damage up close and personal as part of clean up crews is shocking. The power of this storm shredded trees, twisted steel billboards on the nearby interstate, turned farm combines on their side, threw cars in the air like tinker toys and flung people up in the air as well. When something like this happens you ask yourself what is really important in life.

Strength and comfort are needed in times like these. When things happen suddenly that rock our world we just have to hold onto Jesus and keep believing God will make a way and things will get better. Loved ones who pass on who accepted Jesus are with him now in paradise as are little babies and children. They are in a better place. It is we who are left behind who grieve as we miss them greatly. It is not God's fault but He is often blamed.

Psalm 116:15 says"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." Friend are you grieving and sad today? Cry out to Jesus who can comfort and heal the broken soul.

Isaiah 40:29-31 says "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

PRAYER: Father I ask today that even though the sun may be shining outside it may not be shining in some peoples hearts reading this. I ask you bring comfort as only you can. Give strength to those who feel they can not go on. In Jesus Name. Amen.
